On the dates September 12-20, 2020, Green Association, with the support of a team of international friends, gathered 36 young people from 6 countries for the “Greeneration Z” Youth Exchange. The project is co-financed by the Erasmus + program and took place in the village of Bunovo, Kyustendil region, Bulgaria.

The young people immersed themselves in a 9-day cohesive, ‘Green’ experience, with the main themes being Environmentally friendly way of life and building a harmonious, sustainable society.

“Greeneration Z” is a simulation of the so-called alternative or ecological, conscious lifestyle, acquainting the young people with important soft and hard skills for building and maintaining such a settlement. The group of participants represented a prototype of a sustainable community, faced with the challenges of living, working and creating together for the common good, sharing resources, building and from natural materials, and making informed choices.

We spent time away from the urban chaos, without ‘smart’ technology, in the heart of our native green mountains. The daily agenda was a program of workshops for sustainable structures (solar shower, compost toilet, etc.), team games and activities, delicious vegetarian food and evenings filled with dancing, laughter and fun by the blazing fire.
At the end of the adventure, along with warm hugs and wonderful memories, each of us took home valuable discoveries and new insights. Because only together we are stronger and we know that the future of the planet is in our own hands!
